When a hard conversation really matters, it doesn’t go the way you want. Either it escalates into a conflict, or you don’t say anything. Both leave you feeling worse.
That’s exactly what this 6-week class was built to change.

Say the Hard Thing Without Losing Yourself or the Relationship is a 6-week, small group class for individuals — whether you’re single or partnered — who are tired of the same two outcomes when important conversations gets hard.
It’s not therapy. It’s not another script you’ll memorize and forget. It’s a guided, hands-on, small class where you learn the real-time how-to of staying connected to yourself and the other person during hard conversations.
Over six weeks, you’ll get individualized guidance on what it takes to communicate in ways that actually land – so you stop choosing between keeping the peace and being yourself.

Learn to read your own nervous system – so you see a reaction coming before it runs the show

Know the difference between a boundary that keeps you connected and a wall that cuts you off

Say what you mean to the most important people in your life – without it turning into a fight – or the silent treatment

Repair faster after a talk goes sideways – both with the other person, and with what you need as well
“Why do our most important conversations go off the rails?”
You know the moment. Something needs to be said…you can feel it in your chest before you even open your mouth. And then it happens again: you come in hot (or they do) and you’re in a fight you didn’t want, or you swallow it and walk away, just feeling resentful.
My guess is…You’ve read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Tried the scripts. Maybe even gone to therapy. And still, the second conversations get tense, all of it goes out the window.
Instead…
- You either come in hot or you say nothing at all – and both leave you feeling worse.
- You lose yourself trying to keep the peace, then feel resentful later.
- You turn into someone you don’t like (yelling or criticizing) the moment things get tense.
- You avoid the conversation entirely – and the distance keeps growing.
If any of this sounds familiar, there’s nothing wrong with you, and your relationships aren’t doomed. It’s that you’ve learned a pattern of communication. And patterns can be changed.
That’s where this class comes in.
💬 What You’ll Learn Inside
🩵 Everything you need to stop reacting the same way – and start staying connected to yourself and the people who matter most, even when it’s hard.
Over six weeks, you’ll move through these concepts:

🩵 Who’s Actually Talking: The words coming out of your mouth depend on which part of you is holding the microphone: the Wounded Child that floods or fawns, the Adaptive Child that controls or walls off, or the grounded Wise Adult. You’ll learn to read your own nervous system and finally see what’s been running the show.

🩵 Knowing Yourself and Your Limits. You can’t share securely from a self you’ve abandoned. You’ll learn what’s true for you, what you need, and the two jobs of a healthy boundary — so you can hold a line without going cold or caving.

🩵 Saying the Hard Thing. The five losing strategies that reliably wreck a hard conversation, why each one was protecting you once upon a time, and what to do instead – including a clear communication structure that helps keep both people present.

🩵 Staying With Yourself, and Repair. No one does this perfectly. You’ll learn to come back to yourself when you get hijacked mid-conversation, use self-compassion as the thing that keeps you in the room, and repair a rupture cleanly with the other person.

✍️ Real scenarios, every week. Single life, partnered life, and just life! We work the actual hard moments you’re facing, so you leave with skills you can use on the conversations that are waiting for you right now. (You never have to share more than you want to.)

✍️ Ask-Anything Form Ask your toughest questions anonymously — and get thoughtful, personalized answers during our calls.

When you start applying these tools, things begin to shift in subtle but powerful ways.
You catch yourself pausing before reacting. You choose communication tools that move you towards connection, and away from the familiar disconnection. You say the thing you’ve been swallowing, and the sky doesn’t fall.
And then one day, you notice it:
You stayed yourself and stayed connected. You held a boundary and the relationship survived. The hard conversation happened, and you two got closer instead of more distant.
That’s the change this class is built for – beginning inside of you.

This class is right for you if:
✅ You want to communicate clearly – without defaulting into shutdown, blame, or defensiveness. You’re craving clean, connected conversations that don’t leave you feeling worse.
✅ You’re tired of choosing between keeping the peace and being yourself. You want to say what’s true without losing the relationship – or losing yourself.
✅ You’re ready to take responsibility – and you want real support to actually change the pattern. You’re not afraid of the work. You just want someone to guide you through it.
What Past Clients are Saying
This class was exactly what I needed
I’ve been in therapy for years, but this class gave me the practical skills I needed. Rose will lovingly tell you “do this, not that” which really worked for me. I got more clarity in 4 weeks than I thought was possible. It was exactly what I needed.
We were at a breaking point
“My partner and I were at a breaking point after 13 years together. Every time we tried to talk something through, it ended up in a big fight. We communicate more now, and in a healthier way. We’re learning how to be a team, with a real understanding of why it’s been so hard. It feels more mature. It feels easier. We know how to talk to each other to make things better, instead of worse. I hate that it took us this long to get here, and I can’t thank Rose enough for teaching us these important skills.”
This class was exactly what I needed
“The size of the communication group was perfect for this kind of work. The content was clear and never overwhelming, there were always practical exercises, and the sharing between participants was a real benefit I hadn’t anticipated. I’m so glad I took this class with Rose. I feel like it helped even more than many of the therapists I’ve been to.”
I changed and so did my relationships
“Rose gave me tangible tools that shifted how I communicated with the toughest people in my life, namely my partner and my mother. She helped me see how withdrawing and going silent was not helping and in fact, I was contributing to even bigger conflicts. Now I am able to actually say what I’m thinking and feeling. I’m not saying it’s easy (it’s not) but those two relationships have gotten better. Turns out they did want to know what was going on with me.”
Now I know what was happening and what to do
“Only after working with Rose did I see a real change in my communication skills. Now I finally understand why I get activated and where it’s coming from. She’s understanding, non-judgmental, and brings just the right levity when you need it most.”
From Stuck in Painful Patterns to Secure Relationships (My Story)
For years, my tough conversations looked one of two ways:
Either I was anxious and spoke every word on my mind...
...or I felt overwhelmed and would shut down and withdraw.
I was stuck in an exhausting cycle - and I couldn't understand why
Then I discovered Attachment Theory and parts work.
For years, my hard conversations went one of two ways.
Sometimes I'd come in hot - sharper than I meant to, defending myself before the other person even finished, and suddenly we were in a fight. Other times I'd do the opposite: go quiet, swallow it, tell myself it wasn't worth it — and hope that if I just didn't say anything, the problem would quietly disappear. (It never did. It just went underground and came back later, bigger.)
I'd walk on eggshells before bringing something up. I'd rehearse it, promise myself I'd stay calm this time, and watch it fall apart anyway. And I couldn't understand why — because I knew better. I knew what I was supposed to say. I just couldn't seem to do it when it counted.
When I started studying attachment theory and parts work, I finally understood: the reason my hard conversations kept failing wasn't that I didn't know what to say. It's that a younger, frightened part of me kept getting into the driver's seat — before the wise, grounded part of me ever got a word in. The part that wanted to blow up, and the part that wanted to shut down, were both just trying to protect me the only way they knew how.
Over the last 20+ years, I've studied and trained with leading experts in trauma healing and attachment repair — including Dr. Diane Poole Heller, Dr. Gabor Maté, Dr. Stan Tatkin, and Terry Real. Through that work, I built a clear, learnable process for staying with yourself under pressure — and saying the hard thing without losing yourself or the relationship.
That process is what this class teaches. It's the work I wish I'd had when I was learning how to do this myself.
I can't wait to work with you. 🤗

Still Have Questions?
- Is this therapy or coaching?
Neither, exactly. It's a guided, skills-based class that combines attachment insight with hands-on practice. You'll leave with tools you can use immediately - not just things to think about. - What if I miss a session?
All sessions are recorded, so you can catch up anytime. They will be available for 90 days after the class ends, and available for you to download. - I'm not in a romantic relationship - will this still help?
Yes. Everything starts with you. The skills - regulation, boundaries, communication, repair - work on every hard conversation in your life: with a parent, a friend, a boss, a date, or yourself. - I'm partnered - should my partner come too?
This is designed for individual growth, and one person changing genuinely shifts the dynamic. If you'd both like to attend, message me below and I can guide you with next steps. - What if I’m the only one doing the work in my relationship?
When one person changes how they show up in hard conversations, the whole conversation changes. It can begin with you. - Is this inclusive of all identities and relationship styles? Yes - this is an inclusive, trauma-informed space for all genders, orientations, and relationship structures. What matters here is how you communicate, honor boundaries, and stay connected.
- I'm not sure it'll help - is it worth it?
If you're open and willing to practice what you learn, this can create real change. Ask yourself: what would shift if I had a way to communicate that actually held up under stress? If that matters to you, it's worth it.
This class is capped at 10 people so I can give everyone the individual attention they need to fully integrate these tools .
The investment is $497.
We'll meet for six Tuesdays, 90 minutes each, September 22nd, 29th, October 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th at 4PM PT /5PM MT/ 7PM ET.
Six 50-minute sessions with me is $1,500. This class gives you 9 hours of live, hands-on teaching, real time scenario work, and six full weeks of structured skill-building — in a room of people doing the same work you are.
It's the most direct way to work with me without the private session investment. And because it's capped at ten, it's not a webinar. You'll actually get the individualized attention you need to push past old patterns and see real change.
You don't have to keep choosing between keeping the peace and being yourself. There's another way, and it's learnable.
