Neediness

Many of us are so afraid of seeming needy, we’ve given up a healthy sense of entitlement. It’s not that we are too needy, it’s that the people we align to are unwilling or unable to provide support, attention, consistency and love.

Some of us have deep wounds from childhood. Those can create needs that no one but ourselves and a Greater Force can satisfy. But there are many perfectly acceptable needs that can and should be satisfied by the people in our lives that we trust. And we do a great disservice to ourselves and our relationships when we pretend our needs don’t exist and fail to ask they be satisfied.

It’s important to identify what we need in a relationship so we can look deeply into who can and can not fulfill them and make the proper decisions. Until we take responsibility for what we want and need, we waste a lot of time in situations with people who simply can not show up.
